MAY 30, 2022

This was a successful finding week! (Finding as in finding people who are interested in learning with us and that want us to keep visiting them).

We went to visit a friend and he couldn't be around for the lesson at the moment but his family could! So we're teaching five of them and we're still missing more of em!

We went on May 25 (día de la patria) to eat locro (basically a traditional Argentine stew that they make on national holidays) with a member and left with return appointments to teach her husband, dad and mother in law.

We went to visit Hermanita Perla when one of her friends stopped by, and we have a return appointment to teach her friend too!

I've really learned that people are innately good. They want to connect with God, sometimes the opportunity just hasn't presented itself. So that's what we dooooo! Present the opportunity!! You'd be surprised how many people will sit down and talk to you about God if you just smile and ask if they'd like to join ya.

And for those who think "Mormons" don't believe in Jesus Christ -- here's a passage that I loved today in the Book of Mormon:

Alma 46:15 says
"And those who did belong to the church were faithful; yea, all those who were true believers in Christ took upon them, gladly, the name of Christ, or Christians as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come."

The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ. We read about the lives of these people who lived thousands of years ago but yet it gives us guidance and direction in our lives today. It reaffirms what the Bible says about Christ and gives us more! And who in their right mind can say they don't want to learn more about Jesus?

And I can finally say I've found an Argentine food that I don't like. Mondongo. Cow stomach. I'll try anything once but whew!

And now its freezing here????? Its so weird seeing pictures from home and it's summer there!

MAY 23, 2022 -- cumplo 1 año!

Hi! I've been a missionary for a year and it's been the best year of my life. I can't wait to see what else the Lord has in store these next six months.

Just thinking of what I've experienced is too wonderful to explain! The changes I've seen in me and the miracles that have happened all around us are just too good. God is so good.

There is no greater name than that of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. I'm so grateful to wear His name. Is there a greater cause than this? Surely I can promise you there isn't. Missionary work IS the Lord's work and we're His servants.

"The standard of truth has been erected. No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the great Jehovah shall say the work is done"

I know with all my heart that the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth and that "the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s Kingdom once again established on the earth, preparatory to the Second Coming of the Messiah." I'm grateful to play a small part in helping the truth of God go forth boldly nobly and independent in bringing it to this corner of the world.

Email me!
I love you!
Have an awesome week!

MAY 16, 2022 -- Yagottawanna

This week we went to migrations to get my paperwork done and we sat there for six hours woof.

We had exchanges! We were gonna go have exchanges w las Hermanas de La Falda but their bus broke down so . . . surprise! The AP's called us and said we'd have exchanges with the sisters in Carlos Paz!! Which was SO FUN because that was my first area here in Argentina. All four of us stayed in their area and while Hermana Anderson y Plata went to teach their friends Hermana Quezada and I went out finding!!

We also had a Relief Society crocheting activity haha! I don't have the pictures from that but these ladies are so sweet. I'm starting to really like Villa Allende.

The title of this email is "yougottawanna" . . . which is also the title of a General Conference talk from 1991 that I really liked this week. I've been feeling the drag! It's starting to get cold here, the people are out less, it feels like stuff has slowed down a bit. It's a choice every day to be excited and just throw every piece of yourself into the work. It's the days where you feel unmotivated when discipleship and perseverance really count. The Lord has miracles in store those days so the devil tries super hard to impede the work!

Helaman 3:29 says, "Yea, we see that whosoever will may lay hold upon the word of God, which is quick and powerful, which shall divide asunder all the cunning and the snares and the wiles of the devil, and lead the man of Christ in a strait and narrow course across that everlasting gulf of misery which is prepared to engulf the wicked—"

Whosoever will, MAY!!! If you really wanna, you can! It's more than just desires, it's the determination to follow through.

Yougottawanna my friends. And then when you fall short, Christ makes up the difference. Leading us through the snares of the devils and strengthening us with His word.

Love ya! I hope you're all doing wonderful! Have a good one!!

MAY 9, 2022 — I’M GETTING EATEN ALIVE!

Fun things from this week:

Taught some drunk guys!
Woke up with bug bites on my face lips neck and basically everywhere rip
Was given popsicles in the street
Was given bananas in the street
Was given oranges in the street
Was given dirty looks in the street .. haha

As you can tell this week was nothing crazy. The past weeks have been nothing crazy, but that's the beauty of it. We have friends that are progressing and developing testimonies. I've seen small and big acts of faith that make me think twice and see the world differently and see the Gospel of Jesus Christ differently. The way the devoted members give us everything even when they don't have much to give. People devoting who they are to God.

It's inspiring. I've seen God's hand too many times to deny that this is His work. There's a lot of what ifs and why's in life but there doesn't need to be.

I have no doubt in my mind this is where I should be but more importantly, this is where God wants me.

Love you guys ❤
