This was a successful finding week! (Finding as in finding people who are interested in learning with us and that want us to keep visiting them).
We went to visit a friend and he couldn't be around for the lesson at the moment but his family could! So we're teaching five of them and we're still missing more of em!
We went on May 25 (dÃa de la patria) to eat locro (basically a traditional Argentine stew that they make on national holidays) with a member and left with return appointments to teach her husband, dad and mother in law.
We went to visit Hermanita Perla when one of her friends stopped by, and we have a return appointment to teach her friend too!
I've really learned that people are innately good. They want to connect with God, sometimes the opportunity just hasn't presented itself. So that's what we dooooo! Present the opportunity!! You'd be surprised how many people will sit down and talk to you about God if you just smile and ask if they'd like to join ya.
And for those who think "Mormons" don't believe in Jesus Christ -- here's a passage that I loved today in the Book of Mormon:
Alma 46:15 says
"And those who did belong to the church were faithful; yea, all those who were true believers in Christ took upon them, gladly, the name of Christ, or Christians as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come."
The Book of Mormon testifies of Christ. We read about the lives of these people who lived thousands of years ago but yet it gives us guidance and direction in our lives today. It reaffirms what the Bible says about Christ and gives us more! And who in their right mind can say they don't want to learn more about Jesus?
