OCTOBER 28, 2021 -- NOT GOING TO LIE . . .

This was a hard week for me!

When you pray to the Lord to see your weaknesses He'll let you see them. Oh boy, did He let me see them this week. I thought about who I used to be. How far I've come, and how far I still need to go.  I was humbled to say the least.

Sometimes it's hard to accept change or accept the will of God because it's inconvenient or will make you uncomfortable but let me tell you! Growth never happens in your comfort zone!!

Ether 12:27 says "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."

Something my companion, Sister Munns, pointed out to me this week was that this scripture doesn't say, "weaknessES" just "weakness".

I really took this to heart. That we are weak in the sense that we're all human. Christ didn't say, "Well okay, I'm gonna make so and so be impatient and lazy and those are their weaknesses". Christ acknowledges that none of us are perfect and in His love, extends His perfection to us. That in Him, we can become something more. That we can become strong! That once we acknowledge we are nothing without Him, we can have the power to do everything IN Him!

This week we had visited the Bishop's Central Storehouse (a welfare center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) and took a tour there. It's amazing to see people taking care of people, kind of like the Good Samaritan:). They gave us these yellow "Helping Hands" t-shirts (which is the service/relief group). The portraits I put in this email are depictions of Jesus Christ they have hanging in the front hallway. I love them! Especially the one of Christ kissing the little girl.   It just touches my heart to think one day I'll be able to embrace my Savior just as tenderly.

And then here's a panoramic view of the Book of Mormon Gallery in the Conference Center! It's so neat! Twelve paintings which all depict history written in the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

If you have any questions about the Book of Mormon, email me! I grow closer to my Savior every single time I read it.
