SEPTEMBER 21, 2021

PRAY FOLKS PRAY. 

This week I have seen so many small miracles as answers to my prayers. As you know I've been learning Spanish and here on Temple Square I have loads of opportunities to speak. We aren't by any means immersed but I'm learning nonetheless. Me and my companion are the definition of 'gringas', but truly this past week I have seen the Lord's hand in my learning this language. We met the sweetest family from Venezuela and I was able to understand every. single. word. It was so natural and the conversation just flowed without me having to ask "uhhh como se dice ___?" It was such a small thing, but meant the absolute world to me.

I'm grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who is so mindful of me. I truly have a testimony that He listens to and answers my prayers and I know in my heart that same goes for all of you. Just because we don't live in biblical times doesn't mean God is any less active in our lives!

2 Nephi 27:23 says:

For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith.

The Lord works small miracles daily in our lives, it's up to us to recognize them! Coincidences don't exist. A coincidence is simply when we fail to recognize His masterful hand.

This week take the time to look for His hand in your life. You will be able to find SO MUCH JOY!!:)

SEPTEMBER 14, 2021 -- THE TEMPLE ❤

Sometimes I wish I had a bad week so I had something crazier to share with you, but alas it was good.  There were two main highlights:  getting to attend the Jordan River Temple and meeting with our friend, Troy.

Because the Salt Lake Temple is closed for renovation, we've been able to go to some temples nearby. What a blessing it has been to attend the temples, especially this week in West Jordan. Their beautiful exteriors are only a glimpse into how marvelous and eternally significant the things we do inside are. As for our friend Troy, Sister Munns and I met up with him at the Conference Center on Temple Square and we had a lesson with him. He has such a pure and sweet testimony and each time we meet, we all are taught by the Holy Spirit. And then Troy surprised us with 2 HUGE BAGS OF BOOM CHICKA POP. One word:  delish. 

This week what I want to leave with you is best expressed by Alma, an ancient prophet who wrote a part of the Book of Mormon. Alma 5:48 says:

"I say unto you, that I know of myself that whatsoever I shall say unto you, concerning that which is to come, is true; and I say unto you, that I know that Jesus Christ shall come, yea, the Son, the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace, and mercy, and truth. And behold, it is he that cometh to take away the sins of the world, yea, the sins of every man who steadfastly believeth on his name."

THIS is why I'm a missionary. To declare with simple power that Christ is our Savior. To help people to have faith in Him and make changes in their life to come closer to Him.

SEPTEMBER 7, 2021 -- I'M A SPANISH QUEEN

This week was just chef's kiss so amazing.

Honestly I don't even know where to start, just losing yourself in the Lord's work makes the time absolutely fly.

We went on exchanges this week so I could get passed off in Spanish (WHOOP WHOOP) and we got to talking about dreams/ambitions/futures??? She wants to open a roller rink with her family (so cute) and for a while I have wanted to be a dermatologist but now idk a roller rink sounds 100x more fun. Not looking forward to real life after my mission when I have to make life decisions!!

Every morning Sister Munns and I go up to the Utah State Capitol Building and run stairs and work out while the sun rises. Also this week, there was a thunderstorm but there was still sunshine coming in the cracks of the trees. It's all SO BEAUTIFUL and a stunning reminder that God created this earth for us as a manifestation of His love. Nature and all of God's creations are so amazing, but there is something, Someone, who is the ultimate reflection of God's love for us. 

I love this song "Beautiful Savior", it says:

Fair is the sunshine,

Fairer the moonlight

And all the stars in heav’n above;

Jesus shines brighter,

Jesus shines purer

And brings to all the world His love.

Fair are the meadows,

Fairer the woodlands,

Robed in the flowers of blooming spring;

Jesus shines brighter. He is fairer. Jesus is pure love embodied. How wonderful is that.

Let His light shine in your life this week, it more brilliant and glorious than anything else.

AUGUST 31, 2021 — THREE MONTHS. . . WHAT?

Wednesday, the 25th marked my three months as a missionary. I am just so grateful to be here and have so much love in my heart for each person who walks onto Temple Square. I can feel that love for them without even knowing them because I love Christ. 

Hebrews 2:18 "For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted."

He loves us perfectly. Any fear or worry I have, He has already felt. He knows how to succor us in our hard times because He's been through it all, its so humbling.

Im trying to get passed off on Spanish (to lead tours and teach lessons w/o another missionary's help) this Saturday. Pray for me! Also if you have anything I can pray about for any of you this week let me know. We can combine our faith<3

Fun moments include tender tour groups, peanut butter cookies courtesy of Sister Carly Brecht and Sister Parker, time in the Assembly Hall, and swig. Also, I saw Alex Googley Amo (lol) from BYU. This week did good for my heart.
